The Anteater skeleton is fixed on a piece of wood, its bones are held into place with glue and some metal wires. It was kindly given to us by Dr. Gregor Schmitz and is part of the "Zoologische Lehrsammlung" of the University of Konstanz.

Different from previous 3D shape acquisition work, we have proposed a novel approach for achieving efficient and high-fidelity 3D shapes using hybrid scanning data. The detailed description is presented in the paper on Efficient 3D Shape Acqusition and Registration using Hybrid Scanning Data in the 3DPVT'08.

The scanning process was documented by Andreas Böhler, Peter Opuchlik, Markus Roth.
