I'm working on creating better models for image and video quality assessment. My aim is to understand visual quality (technical and aesthetic) in view of human visual perception. As a member of the SFB TRR 161, I've been exploring effective crowd-sourcing strategies for the estimation of perceptual dimensions, and building large-scale, ecologically valid IQA and VQA datasets.
Some of my previous works involve aesthetics assessment and image enhancement. During my doctoral studies I've developed a computational lighting design framework for creating aesthetically enhanced compositions from light stacks.
